Easy< 5 minFreeBasic tools

Real talkIf the splinter is deep or near sensitive skin, this can hurt and might not get everything out on the first try.

  • A needle
  • Tweezers
  • Rubbing alcohol or soap and water
  • A bandage
  1. 1Wash your hands and the area around the splinter.
  2. 2Sterilize the needle by wiping it with rubbing alcohol or heating it and letting it cool.
  3. 3Gently use the needle tip to lift the splinter out enough to grab with tweezers.
  4. 4Grab the splinter with tweezers and pull it out in the same direction it went in.
  5. 5Clean the area again and cover with a bandage if needed.

Stop and see a doctor if the splinter is deep, very painful, or shows signs of infection.
