FIX

Microwave with a damp paper towel

Easy< 5 minFreeBasic tools

Real talkThis can make the sugar clumpy if you overdo it, and it hardens again quickly if not stored properly.

  • Brown sugar
  • Damp paper towel
  • Microwave-safe bowl or plate
  1. 1Put brown sugar in a microwave-safe bowl.
  2. 2Drape a damp (not soaking) paper towel over the sugar.
  3. 3Microwave on medium power for 20-30 seconds.
  4. 4Check and break up clumps with a fork.
  5. 5Repeat in short bursts if needed.
  6. 6Transfer sugar to an airtight container immediately after.

Be careful not to overheat or wet the sugar too much, or it will clump badly.
